Comments: I absolutly love these picks. Since I discovered them, (six or seven years ago) I've used nothing else. I would get hand cramps all the time with regular picks. Since I started using these, I no longer get cramps in my hands. I also find that my picking has improved since I started using these picks. I am much more accurate and find that I can pick with a precision that would have amazed me just a few years ago. These picks also seem to last forever. I don't mind paying a little more for these picks because they are worth every penny. I mean, think about it, a PRS cost more the a Squire, but there is a reason for that. Comments: it's odd to think that so many things about the guitar are so needlessly klutzy. after hundreds of years and countless players, one would think that the instrument would by now have evolved into a slinky and easy to use instrument. weirdly enough, the opposite seems to be the case. a perfect example of this is the guitar pick. this is a device so common that it's design is taken for granted, either because it's deemed to be perfect or, more likely, because it's good enough to get the job done. for this reason the f-1 is a real revalation; it takes a simple problem encountered by guitar players everywhere and solves it elegantly. no more flying picks and sore fingers. the shape of the pick makes it easy to hold allowing for excellent comfort, control, and aim. for a beginning guitarist there is no better investment as it eliminates the frustrations engendered by other more squirrely designs. the surf pick is even better, making tremolo style picking a thrill and not a drill. a real problem with this style of picking is that the short sharp strokes needed for it are not easy to produce with most picks. if the pick is too light, it will be easy to get the required pick velocity but the pick will be noisy and the tone thin and light. if the pick is too heavy, it becomes harder to pick quickly and the tone becomes dark and muddy. the surf pick solves this by being light enough for speed and strong enough for power. and, of course, the shape makes it easy to hold, eliminating much of the pain and fatigue associated with extended jams. all in all, i find that these picks are worth the price and i highly recommend them. now if i just find them in retail stores...
